Social Responsibility & Integrity
EUROPEAN AQUATICS SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
European Aquatics (EA) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) are committed to delivering a responsible and sustainable event, recognising the importance of environmental protection, water conservation and alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
In line with the European Aquatics Strategy, ASR principles and the EA Sustainable Charter, and as a signatory to the Sport for Nature and the UN Sports for Climate Action Framework, the event will aim to implement key sustainability actions, including sustainable mobility, efficient use of water and energy, waste reduction, elimination of single-use plastics and responsible food and beverage practices.
Athletes, teams, volunteers and spectators will be actively encouraged to engage in sustainable behaviours, supported by monitoring and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.

European Aquatics, Xxxxxx Arena and Xxxxxxx Swimming Federation are committed to set a benchmark for aquatics events by delivering a set of sustainable practices which aim to:
Minimise the environmental impact of the 2025 European Aquatics Events
Foster social and economic legacy for the benefit of the host local and wider community
Inspire the local and wider community to adopt healthy and active styles through the Aquatics Social Responsibility Strategy
Promote the sustainable development goals as a catalyst for sustainable development through sports
Our organizations recognise that maintaining a clean environment and conserving water are essential for ensuring a healthy and sustainable world, which is crucial for the well-being of athletes and society. We are also aware that achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals requires significant and transformative actions to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.
We aim to make a positive contribution to the promotion of a sustainable future for aquatics, therefore all participants, team members, staff, volunteers and spectators are encouraged to support a joint ambition and commitment to sustainability by embarking on a journey to reduce their individual carbon footprint.
This Sustainability & Legacy Plan is aligned with the sustainability goals and policies of the City of Xxxxxx, Xxxxxx, Xxxxxx Arena and Xxxxxx Swimming Federation and will be implemented with a focus on the five following key priorities:

- We are giving away water bottles to all our athletes staying at Gloria Sports Arena. In this way, we have placed water fountains in our sports health performance center, which is frequently used during the day, and reduced the use of bottled water, and replaced plastic water with glass bottles.

INITIATIVES
- Within the scope of the Zero Waste project in our facilities, waste is collected by separating it according to product groups and delivered to authorized companies. There are waste separation containers in places that are easily accessible to guests and employees.
- We plan to prevent food waste by measuring the food waste returned from the buffet with the surplus food application.
